At EZ Purchases (ABN: 53 735 079 680), we are committed to providing high-quality products and ensuring our customers receive safe and reliable items. This policy outlines our commitment to product quality and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Important Note: Nothing in this Warranty Policy limits or excludes your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Your rights under the ACL apply automatically and cannot be overridden by any store policy or manufacturer's warranty.

1. Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Guarantees

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. As a customer, you have the following fundamental rights for any product you purchase:

  • Right to Replacement or Refund for Major Failure: You are entitled to a replacement or a full refund for a major failure of the product.
  • Right to Compensation for Damages: You are entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage resulting from a major failure.
  • Right to Repair or Replacement for Minor Failure: You also have the right to have products repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Duration of Guarantees: These consumer guarantees apply automatically and do not have a fixed duration (e.g., 12 months). The coverage period depends on what is considered reasonable, taking into account:

  • The nature of the products (e.g., type of product, complexity).
  • Their price.
  • How they are commonly used and their expected lifespan.

Beyond ACL Rights: These statutory rights apply in addition to any manufacturer's warranty or any voluntary warranty EZ Purchases may choose to provide for specific products.

2. What's Generally Not Covered (Exclusions)

The following situations are generally not covered under consumer guarantees or any standard warranty, as they are not considered a product fault:

  • Damage caused by misuse, improper handling, lack of reasonable care, or accidents (e.g., dropping, liquid damage).
  • Normal wear and tear (e.g., expected degradation over time with regular use).
  • Unauthorized modifications, alterations, or repairs performed by anyone other than EZ Purchases or its authorised service agents.
  • Products used for commercial purposes, if they were sold for domestic use only (unless specifically stated or designed for commercial use).
  • If you were advised of the defect before purchasing the product.
  • If you simply changed your mind or found the product cheaper elsewhere.

3. How to Make a Warranty Claim

If you believe your product has a fault and wish to make a claim under the Australian Consumer Law guarantees:

  1. Contact Us Immediately: Please email support@ezpurchases.com as soon as you identify the issue.
  2. Provide Details: Include your order number, a clear description of the fault, and if possible, relevant photos or videos demonstrating the problem.
  3. Assessment: We will assess your claim in accordance with the ACL. This may involve troubleshooting, requesting the item to be returned for inspection, or consulting with the manufacturer.
  4. Resolution: Once the fault is confirmed, we will provide an appropriate remedy as per your rights under the ACL (repair, replacement, or refund), at no cost to you.
